The highly-anticipated tennis manager game is finally here! This game managed to made its way to our gaming desk, after nearly 2 years in development (on top of last year’s beta). Take a look at how this game plays out in the video below, then read our full review to get the lowdown on this game!
Tennis fans finally have a management sim that will allow them to push their favorite tennis players to new heights in their careers. For years, the main focus of sports management games has been soccer, but finally, tennis fans have a management sim that will allow them to push their favorite tennis players to new heights in their careers.
I never thought there would be much involvement in terms of tennis managers, as much as I love tennis, but Tennis Manager 2021 has proved me wrong, demonstrating how much preparation and strategies go into operating a tennis club.
The first thing I should note is that you cannot play tennis in Tennis Manager 2021. When many of the manager games I’ve played before allow you to play, Tennis Manager 2021 focuses only on management, which continues even while the player is on the court.
Several things may be done to assist your player throughout a game, including screaming encouraging words, asking a chat after a set, and even altering the player’s tactics, which is particularly useful while you are losing.
It may take some time to get accustomed to if you are new to management games; but, if you are acquainted with these kinds of games, the UI is clear, easy to use, and follows a fairly familiar structure, so you should have no trouble coming to grips with it.
The attention to care and dedication that went into developing Tennis Manager 2021 is evident. Even little things like color-coding emails and providing hyperlinks that may lead you to scouted players demonstrate the creators’ attention to detail and commitment.
Tennis Manager 2021 Management & Customization
Players will have a choice of managers, like in most sports management games these days, but Tennis Manager 2021 takes it a step further by enabling them to select among the following:
- Managerial Position
- Manager with a long history
More games are embracing gender equality, which is fantastic, but it’s also good to have the ability to select between age groups.

Another fantastic feature in Tennis Manager 2021 is the option to build your own club in addition to selecting from a variety of current clubs.
Although the game warns you not to do this on your first playtime, if you’re a seasoned sports management gamer, you should be OK, but if you’re not, it’s certainly better to learn the ropes first before starting your own club.
Once you’ve joined a club, you’ll need to appoint staff to your players. These individuals will assist you in keeping your players healthy, physically strong, and performing training circuits with them.
At first, I found the training to be a bit daunting since there are so many different training routines that can be set, and all players had their whole week’s training scheduled on one page, which was a lot to take in.
Once I figured out how to navigate the training, I thought it was fantastic, and finding the perfect mix of improving your players’ abilities while also giving them with rest days and physical treatments like massages becomes quite the challenge.
Getting Involved in Your Players’ and Club’s Success
Tennis Manager 2021 features players making decisions that may impact the club based on their answers. As a manager, you must know how to deal with social issues, whether it’s dealing with press conferences or interacting with players.
Conversation with a tennis player before to the match
These discussions will take place with the press before to games, as well as with players both before and after games. When it comes to speaking with your players, the decisions you make will have a direct effect on their mindset before to the game, thus being overly harsh may hurt their performance.
Several things you may say to your player throughout the game to either encourage or criticize them, and some of them can even be used to praise them or express displeasure with how they’ve been playing.
You may even alter strategies in the middle of a game, as well as the intensity of your returns, serves, and crucial moments.
Of course, increasing the strength of all your serves reduces accuracy, so it takes time to not only get accustomed to the best strategies, but also to learn to know your player and their numbers, since certain methods may work better for some players but not for others.
One thing I’ve noticed about this game is that you really have to get to know your players and what they’re capable of, as well as where they should be in their skills, abilities, and careers. It’s then up to you to hone their skills and ensure that they become the best players they can be, for both the player and your club.
Plan your training program, then keep an eye on your players in real time. Tennis Manager 2021 is a thrilling game to play, whether you’re seeing your team develop as players rise through the ranks, or just learning from your errors.
I would have laughed if you had told me last year that I would be playing and loving a tennis management game; it’s not usually my thing, but I must confess that putting together the ideal squad has already become somewhat addicting.
So far, the only problems I’ve seen in-game have been a handful of spelling errors. For example, I received an email from Andy Murrey, but it was written Andy Marrey in the email, but it was spelled properly on his profile.
In addition to the Andy Murrey problem, there are a few other spelling errors in the game, but they are few and far between and do not create any difficulties; I have no doubt the creators will fix these in no time.
