The Atlanta Falcons have a lot of talent on defense, but it’s Deion Jones who has been the most impressive this season.

Deion Jones, the Atlanta Falcons’ emerging star linebacker, may have gone unnoticed last season, but he’s already attracting attention going into the 2023 season.
Jones’s trainer, Albert Brock of ABX Elite Sports, recently shared a video of him working out ahead of training camp on Twitter.
Watch Jones demonstrate his footwork, quickness, and hands in the video below:
Some of Debo’s teammates, such as running back Qadree Ollison, were eager to praise his efforts:
Let’s go, Bo!!

Jones is one of the top 11 linebackers in the NFL.
The Falcons had a terrible year in 2023, finishing with a 4-12 overall record, which led to Jones slipping under the radar.
Despite the fact that the rest of the team underperformed, Jones still managed to set career highs with 106 tackles, five sacks, six quarterback hits, and eight quarterback hurries.
With such numbers, he wasn’t ignored on Touchdown Wire’s list of the NFL’s best 11 linebackers, where he was rated as the league’s No. 7 linebacker.
The Atlanta Falcons, including linebacker Deion Jones, did not have the greatest season last year. Despite the team’s struggles, Jones found ways to have an effect on the game and continue his development as a linebacker. As the Falcons attempted to find methods to regularly attack the opposing quarterback, he established career highs with five sacks, six quarterback hits, and eight quarterback hurries.
As we witnessed in 2019, Jones possesses excellent man and zone coverage abilities for a linebacker. Last season, he was targeted a little more in coverage, allowing an NFL passer rating of 103.8 when targeted, the lowest figure of his career, but he still had two interceptions and three pass breakups. If his coverage statistics improve, he’ll be even more prominent on lists like this next summer.”
Jones has recorded 100 tackles in four of his first five NFL seasons, as well as 11 career interceptions.
The Falcons’ linebacking corps should be dependable.
There are a lot of unknowns about the Falcons’ defense in 2023, but one group that defensive coordinator Dean Pees should be able to rely on is his linebackers.
It all begins with Jones, who is one of the most versatile and quick players in the league.
Along with Jones, Foye Oluokun is a rising talent. Oluokon really stole the show from Jones last season, when he put in superior performances, including three forced turnovers against Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot. You can’t overlook his performance against the Kansas City Chiefs, when he single-handedly prevented them from scoring early in the game.
Then there’s Mykal Walker, a second-year linebacker who finished his first season with 45 tackles, one pass breakup, and a forced fumble in just six starts. Despite being drafted 119th overall, he was chosen to Pro Football Focus’ All-Rookie Team.
So, although the defense as a whole is a cause for concern going into Week 1, we’ll have one less to worry about when it comes to the team’s top three linebackers.
